Frankie Drake Mysteries is a Canadian television drama series, which premiered on CBC Television in the 2017–18 television season.The series premiered on November 6, 2017. On April 5, 2018 the show was renewed for a second season of ten episodes.Lauren Lee Smith portrays the fictional Frankie Drake, the first female private detective in 1920s Toronto, with Chantel Riley as her crime-solving partner Trudy. It also features Rebecca Liddiard as morality officer Mary Shaw.

October Gale is a Canadian thriller film written and directed by Ruba Nadda. The film premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in the Special Presentations section of the festival. It was acquired by IFC Films and received a release in March 2015. The film stars Patricia Clarkson, Scott Speedman, and Tim Roth. Clarkson had previously worked with Nadda on Cairo Time.
The Expanse
The Expanse is an American science fiction television series on Syfy, developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, based on the series of novels by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (writing under the pseudonym James S. A. Corey). Set in a future where humanity has colonized the Solar System, it follows United Nations executive Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo), police detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), and ship’s officer Jim Holden (Steven Strait) and his crew as they unravel a conspiracy that threatens peace in the system and the survival of humanity.
The series premiered on demand on November 23, 2015, and on Syfy on December 14, 2015. In March 2017, Syfy renewed The Expanse for a 13-episode third season, which premiered April 11, 2018. The series received positive reviews from critics, who highlighted its beautiful visuals, well-developed characters, and thrilling political narrative. It has received a Hugo Award forBest Dramatic Presentation as well as a Saturn Award nomination.
Xena Princess Warrior
Xena: Warrior Princess is an American fantasy television series filmed on location in New Zealand. The series aired in syndication from September 4, 1995, until June 18, 2001. It has been praised by critics for its strong female protagonist and has since acquired a strong cult following, attention in fandom, parody, and academia, and has influenced the direction of other television series.
The series was created in 1995 by writer-director-producer Robert Tapert under his production tag, Renaissance Pictures, with executive producers R. J. Stewart (who developed the series along with Tapert) and Sam Raimi. The series narrative follows Xena (played by Lucy Lawless), an infamous warrior on a quest to seek redemption for her past sins against the innocent by using her formidable fighting skills to now help those who are unable to defend themselves. Xena is accompanied by Gabrielle (played by Renee O’Connor), who during the series changes from a simple farm girl into an Amazon warrior and Xena’s comrade-in-arms; her initial naïveté helps to balance Xena and assists her in recognizing and pursuing the “greater good”. In 2012 star Lucy Lawless confirmed her character Xena was from ancient Bulgaria, Thrace.

Mary Kills People is a Canadian black comedy-drama television series starring Caroline Dhavernas.It premiered on Global on January 25, 2017.
On June 5, 2017, the series was renewed for a second season,which was scheduled to premiere on Global’s video-on-demand platforms on January 1 before premiering on television on January 3, 2018. The series, which was to comprise six episodes, was commissioned by TV network Global on January 28, 2016. Production began in summer 2016,and the first episode aired January 25, 2017. In the United States, the series was picked up by Lifetime on October 13, 2016. The channel came on board as a co-producer and was involved in creative aspects of the project, including casting. Mary Kills People premiered in the US on Lifetime on April 23, 2017.
As of January 23, 2017, there were talks to produce a second season according to Metro News and Caroline Dhavernas. On June 5, 2017, the series was renewed for a six-episode followup season. Production occurred over summer 2017 in Toronto. Lifetime announced their pickup of the second season in the United States on July 28, 2017;it premiered on March 12, 2018.

Bitten is a Canadian television series based on the Women of the Otherworld series of books by author Kelley Armstrong. The name was inspired by the first book in the series. The show was produced as an original series for Space, with most filming in Toronto and Cambridge, Ontario. Its third and final season finished in April 2016. On May 22, 2014, the series was renewed for a second season of 10 episodes, with production beginning in Summer. On May 22, 2015, Space confirmed the series to be renewed for a third season with filming set to begin summer/fall 2015. It was confirmed in December 2015 that the third season of Bitten would be the show’s final season.
