Christian Bielz is an award‑winning cinematographer whose versatile portfolio spans narrative
and non‑fiction features and series.
His recent feature credits include This is Not a Test (2025) and Out Come the Wolves (2023) with
director Adam MacDonald. Their earlier collaborations on Pyewacket (2017) and Backcountry
(2014) premiered at TIFF and were praised for their immersive, natural‑light cinematography.
In narrative short films, Christian’s work on Bloodshed (2020) received multiple festival awards,
and earned the 2021 CSC Award for Best Cinematography in a Dramatic Short.
On the Amazon Prime series The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith (2022), Christian
received a 2023 CSC Award nomination for documentary cinematography. Both this and his
previous film with director Nathalie Bibeau, The Walrus and the Whistleblower (2020), premiered
